Posted on Tue Sep 29, 2009

Producing New Eggs With Stem Cells Researchers in China have recently managed to produce new eggs in the ovaries of female mice using stem cells. Prior to this medical breakthrough it was upheld that women are born with all the eggs in their ovaries that they will ever have. The stem cells were injected into the ovaries of the infertile mice and over 80% of the mice, who prior to the treatment had no eggs, then produced new eggs and healthy offspring after mating.
